Biography
Dr. Meaghan Nigra was born and raised in New York and has wanted to be a doctor since she was in third grade. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the College of the Holy Cross and worked as a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps before
moving to Washington DC for medical school. She received her Doctorate of Medicine from Georgetown University and completed her pediatric residency at Georgetown University Hospital. Before joining Fairfax Neonatal Associates, Dr. Nigra worked in a busy pediatric
practice in Falls Church, Virginia. She is thrilled to be a member of the FNA team taking care of newborns and children at Inova Fairfax and Inova Fair Oaks Hospitals. In addition to being a pediatrician, Dr. Nigra is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, so
she especially enjoys caring for the unique needs of breastfeeding babies and their families. Dr. Nigra lives in Alexandria with her husband Peter who she met in medical school. They enjoy hiking in the Adirondacks, lounging on the Jersey Shore, and chasing their three young children with bottles of sunscreen.
