Pediatric Hospitalists

FNA’s Pediatric Hospitalists Team

All pediatric hospitalists are board-certified in pediatrics and maintain certification in pediatric advanced life support (PALS) and neonatal resuscitation (NRP). They have extensive experience in all aspects of hospital care from newborn through adolescence.

The Pediatric Hospitalist Team is quite active throughout the entire hospital. They attend high- risk vaginal deliveries, all cesarean sections, and assist the neonatologists in the NICU (newborn intensive care unit). They also offer pediatric consultation services to private physicians who attend to their own patients as well as the surgical team. Additionally, at the request of the emergency department (ED) providers, they evaluate pediatric patients in the pediatric ED, admit them to the pediatric unit or assist in their transfer to other hospitals if deemed necessary. Private care providers may call anytime and speak directly to one of the pediatric hospitalists who will assist them in facilitating the care of their patients in any area of the hospital.

The pediatric hospitalists are part of Fairfax Neonatal Associates, an organization that has been providing care for the newborns of Northern Virginia for more than 40 years.
