Timothy (Alex) A. Kline, MD
Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine
American Academy of Pediatrics
Representative to Vermont Oxford Network (VON)
Neuroprotection in the newborn, including therapeutic hypothermia.
Dr. Kline describes his last 10 years as lucky "in being part of an amazing organization that is 100% dedicated to the health and wellness of infants and children in Northern Virginia and beyond." He has served as the chairman of the Brain Trust committee: a group of doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals who strive to improve the neurologic outcomes for vulnerable infants. He has published several papers and book chapters on the subject.
One of the favorite parts of the job is getting to know the families of our babies. This year he was elected to the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House, VA/DC chapters.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, including three young children (four if you include their bulldog, Wheezy). An active runner for many years, Dr. Kline is happy to have finished his first Ironman triathlon this year.
