Division of Pediatric Pulmonology: Overview

The Pediatric Lung Center (PLC) provides comprehensive care for all aspects of pediatric pulmonary medicine. Particular areas of expertise include asthma, cystic fibrosis, home ventilation, flexible bronchoscopy, and apnea.

Our staff consists of six full time pediatric pulmonologists, a certified pediatric nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialists, a nutritionist, and a social worker.

Outpatient services include spirometry, laryngoscopy, and exercise testing.

While offices are physically separate from Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children, we provide extensive support to the Children's center. We work very closely with both the general pediatricians and the various pediatric medical and surgical specialists in the region. The PLC is accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as a satellite Cystic Fibrosis Center, and we provide state-of-the-art care in all aspects of CF management.

The PLC is committed to the maintenance of lung health in children, and to being a resource for our community. We strive to see new patients within 48 hours of referral, and pride ourselves on prompt responses to both patients' and referring physicians' inquiries.
